The soft hush of a misty morning in Nuevo Arenal, Costa Rica, becomes a vibrant spectacle as a medley of colorful birds gathers around a local bird feeder. It’s not just any ordinary sight; it’s a captivating dance of nature that we are fortunate to witness.

A trip to this bird feeder, lovingly set up by a resident, is reminiscent of the myriad hues that paint our world. Captured exquisitely with a GoPro Hero, this video offers an up-close look at the diverse avian wonders that call Costa Rica their home. And you, dear reader, are part of our exclusive club, getting a front-row seat to nature’s serenade.

As we delve deeper into this video, the Collared Aracari Toucans with their iconic beaks are undeniably a showstopper. The familiar rhythm of woodpeckers, each uniquely magnificent, creates a symphony in the background. Floating gracefully are the Palm Tanagers and Blue/Gray Tanagers, while the Baltimore Orioles bring a splash of orange, reminiscent of a sunlit horizon. The Clay-colored Thrush, Costa Rica’s national bird, serenely flits around, showcasing its understated beauty.

But that’s not all. Our video treat reveals Red-legged Honeycreepers, Black-Cowled Orioles, Euphonias, and several mesmerizing hummingbirds. Their swift movements and iridescent plumage shimmer in the soft morning light. And while not directly in view, the distant calls of parrots and a Keel-billed Toucan remind us of the rich biodiversity that thrives just beyond our gaze.

Sharing this visual feast feels like opening a window to a hidden paradise. Every scene, every bird, brings joy and a sense of wonder. As many viewers have exclaimed, watching these birds is an immersive experience. One comment humorously shared, “I put this on full screen and then didn’t want to take a sip of my coffee for fear of scaring away the birds.” It’s amusing how nature, even through a screen, can evoke such genuine reactions.
