Raising a tiny Zebra Finch, from egg to adulthood

Alwyn Wils from the Netherlands is famous for his bird-hatching adventures. Recently, he recorded the journey of a Zebra Finch from the day she was born till she grew up into a healthy bird. The mother bird laid an egg in her transport box, and Alwyn ensured that he was there at every step of the bird's journey from birth to adulthood. Soon they began sharing an inseparable bond. #zebrafinch #hatching

The journey of a tiny bird hatching from an egg and growing up completely can be a long process. Finally, however, you can witness the entire journey. In that case, nothing can be more wonderful than seeing a tiny bird growing into a beautiful adult.

Recently, the journey of a baby Zebra Finch was recorded by Alwyn Wils from Haarlem, Netherlands. He is famous for his bird-hatching adventures and has many followers online. Besides hatching birds, Alwyn also loves to save birds from any possible danger.

According to Alwyn, the mother bird lays an egg in her transport box, which is very rare. After numerous failed attempts by Alwyn, the mother bird refuses to incubate her egg. This forces Alwyn to incubate the egg in the incubator.

Alwyn makes it a point to check on the egg regularly. After almost four days, he sees a significant development inside the egg. Next, he sees the baby bird’s heart beating with spider web-like developments. Finally, after almost two weeks, the baby Zebra Finch is big and strong enough to hatch.

The baby bird was tiny and appeared very small in Alwyn’s hands. Although the journey so far was smooth for both the human and the baby bird, the real struggle lay ahead. First, Alwyn faced significant difficulties in feeding the tiny baby bird.

After the first few drops of the feed entering the baby bird’s mouth, she opens her beak happily. Within a few days, the baby bird gets the hang of it. Soon the two become a great team, and the tiny bird grows into a beautiful adult bird.

Alwyn loves to tuck the bird inside his gown after feeding her. Sometimes, while brushing his teeth, Alwyn places the bird on his shoulder. The bird explores his human friend’s body while Alwyn completes his brushing. The two share an inseparable bond.
