Feathered alarm clock raven gives hilarious wake-up calls
Lynette, a vet, forms an unexpected bond with a baby raven (Walter) she rescues. Instead of typical bird behavior, the bird mimics the family dog, Mouse. He showcases unique antics, forming deep connections with his humans. Their unconventional relationship is heartwarming and challenges traditional perceptions about these intelligent birds. A video clip capturing Walter's delightful behaviors invites viewers to witness this unusual tale. #raven #birds
Have you ever heard of birds acting like our four-legged friends? Meet Walter, the raven who thinks he’s a dog. This isn’t just another bird tale; it’s a story of unexpected friendships and breaking stereotypes.
The video clip has Lynette, a seasoned veterinarian from Australia’s scenic Gold Coast, talking about her bird friend, a raven. A malnourished baby bird was brought to her, abandoned and rejected, even by his own kind. Lynette welcomed Walter into her home with her nurturing spirit, offering shelter and a loving family.
Walter’s days were initially spent recovering, trying to find strength and footing. But as he grew, so did his personality, influenced heavily by another family member: the dog, Mouse. Walter and Mouse became inseparable, from sharing meals to chasing each other around.
Soon, Lynette started considering reintroducing the raven to the wild, where she felt he truly belonged. But Walter, with his newfound love for home comforts and perhaps his canine sister, chose to stay. Lynette’s vast property became his playground, giving him the best of both worlds.
It’s not just the dog that Walter bonded with; his relationship with Lynette is pure magic. He’s her feathery alarm clock, ensuring she never oversleeps. And if he’s in the mood for some sun, you’ll find him perched on Lynette’s shoulder, soaking in the rays.
Despite his raven identity, the family humorously dubbed him a ‘scraggly crow’ for his, let’s say, less-than-stellar looks in his early days. But it’s all love; the name stuck, adding to Walter’s charm.
Walter’s antics are not limited to playing fetch or mimicking the dog. He even loves stealing bread crumbs, slippers, and anything to which he gets access. However, the naughty raven also loves gifting his mom! Lynette often finds herself presented with shiny trinkets, & rocks. It’s his way of showing love, and Lynette wouldn’t trade it for the world.
The cute raven often makes his mom chase him, but it’s all good fun. You have to see it to believe what we are talking about. So, watch the video and share it with friends while you’re at it because everyone needs a sprinkle of joy and quirkiness.
